Fallen Angel

A small poem to those woman who thought they had no choice but to get into prostitution for a living, to those woman who hide their scares deeper in their heavy make up, who has lost their senses to some beasts that hardly treated her human. Often does she have to fake smiles to attract something she never really wants, responds to whistles and claps to feed her poor family may be. She feels so small as the people see her as a disgusting creature, but may be she vindicates herself saying "I saved a rape today" .

As she bury her head in her hands
covered in make up
body plastered with unsterilized kisses
hiding her identity
between her legs
her clothes
shredded
at the sight of males
empty booze bottles
cradle her in her sleep
waking up
in cold sweats
and to a heartless man
holding her
every night
this sight
fufilled her life
she couldn't say no to sexual desires
and became a goddess
of sex's empire
her make up smeared
across her cheeks
across her fears
she feared of being ugly
selling her body and her beauty
so every morning
whenever she woke up
she looked in the mirror
seeing a reflection
of a lost soul
burying her head in her hands
straining to hear her
as she quietly spoke
"...why can't some one love me ?''

This blog is to ensure that no one has be treated with less respect, no one has to be disgraced for everyone bears a scar deep within.
Inspired to write because of the movie "Pretty Woman".

  2. Wow that was very touching one pranavi.... Sometimes I feel ashamed to be a male and these are certain things.... What a comparison "saved a girl from getting raped". That's s genuinely good one and bold genre
